Great Site - Love to Matthew. My daughter is now 5 yrs old and was dx with I.S. and optice nerve hypoplasia at 4 months old. I was told at the time that Emilie would have 80 % vision in her left eye and 20 % vision in her right eye, but as time has gone on shes amazed everyone and has very functional vision and no-one would know of her sight problems except for a little squint when shes tired. I know Matthews situation is different but never give up hope - Kids are very very resiliant and continually amaze you. Love to you all in the work that you do Joanne and Emilie

I loved the sight and your grandson is beautiful. I am 29 and my fourth child was born with severe microcephaly (brain is size of 25 week old fetus), seizure disorder, secondary lissencephaly, hypothroidism and some other issues. He is the joy of our life and we love him SOOO much! My Benjamin is two months younger than Matthew. I would love to recommed a book called "Angel with the Golden Halo". It's a children's book and it is wonderful. I have a lovely 8 year old son with bilateral schizencephaly and what a handful he is. He also has sight problems and other things but is going well. He is on the intergration program at school and is in year 2. We were told lots of things all very bad but Ethan has been a real trooper and is going ok a few seizures but not medicated. Hi Matthew, My name is Anthony. I am 20 years old this year. I also have problems like you, but I am a happy boy. I learned to swim, ride a bike and walk since the age of six. I cannot walk for long distances and often I need someone to hold my hand. I eat by myself. I have worked very hard to be able to do all these things. I love swimming, riding my bike and especially love going out in the car and I also love multi-sensory lights soooooooo much!! Please think of me as your friend. Kisses to you from Anthony. I too was a little fat baby!! But I am a slim teenager now!! I have Botulinum injections every six months to help my spasticity which has got worse as I've grown older. Hi Charlotte ~ What a handsome little boy! :) Thank you for sharing him. I lost my two little boys, Alex and Isaac, to Walker Warburg Syndrome. Our precious Alex passed away on 01-31-98. He was almost 17 months old. And our precious little Isaac earned his wings on 12-06-00. He was 4 days away from his 2nd birthday. It is truly wonderful what you have done for Matthew!
